The Fallen...?

"But....we make new friends," Meredith continued on, "and well....our old friends will never be truly gone. Memories live on and on, and thats what makes life special and worth living. Because even if you never see them again, the impacted you somehow. And...that makes room for new memories." she smiled brightly, "I'm glad I made new friends...I never would of had pad thai IN Thailand!!" Meredith laughed.

Khronos sighed again, and just transformed, rolling her body into some foliage and cloaking it. Stepping away from her cloaked body in her holoform, she helped Meredith down. "Nearest town is a mile East of here. Let's get moving."

Meredith nodded, her voice had come back a bit, but still horase, "No problem. Need to stretch my legs!" she smiled taking off running.

Khronos smiled, watching as Meredith took off. The pale girl needed to be freer more than "once and a while"...

Meredith ran fast, jumping over logs, under branches. One smacked her in the leg, she tumbled, somersaulted and springed right back without missing a beat. A small ravine came up, she grabbed a vine and swung across it, landing spinning, then tripping over a lizard falling flat on her butt. She grunted at her own failure, slamming her fist on the ground, causing the lizard to become frightened and bite her.

The girl yelped, going into action, she quickly identified the lizard as non toxic, and non-lethal. The bite still hurt non-the-less. Meredith reached into her sleeve, "I hope Khro has some extra gauze..."

As if on queue, Khronos' holoform warped up to the humanoid and began dressing her wounds. "Silly humans," she muttered. "Don't know when to calm down, do they...?"

Meredith rolled her eyes, pressing her lips to silence herself. Grumbling internally about not being a child, her stomach spoke for her.

Khronos laughed, straightening back up to look down at Meredith. "It's just over that hill," she said. "Don't trip."

And Khronos meant it, too; it was a large ravine that was between this jungle and the village on the other side. It was a 30-foot-jump, and a 100-foot-drop, easily.

Meredith stared down the ravine, an expression that seemed impossible dressed her face. "You better have a plan man..."

Khronos put a hand on her chest, scoffing as if she'd been offended (which she hadn't been, obviously, if the smirk on her face didn't give that away).

"Why, Meredith!" she exclaimed, laughing. "Don't I always have a plan?"

"The list is alphabetical. Need I start with 'Alfredo bombs' or 'Zanzubarian pit of eternal darkness?'" she smiled.

Khronos' holoform rolled her dark blood red eyes. "Oh, whatever," she muttered playfully, smirking as she picked Meredith up and fired up her thrusters.

Meredith squeaked a tiny bit, hanging on tightly as the ground waved goodbye to the Earthbound human.

Khronos quickly reached the other side, staying close to the tree tops to avoid any unnecessary attention-- mainly by NEST, or any of the other humans.

Once Meredith was down, Khronos' holoform turned completely human again.

Meredith stumbled a step, regained her balance then walked on. She stopped a few moments later, "My Mer sense is telling me not to move..."

She was right, a hunter or more than likely a poacher, had set a tiger pit trap right in front of where Meredith stood now.

Khronos pushed Meredith aside and picked up the trap, not fearing the metal as she took it and crushed it. Tossing it aside after making it into a tiny origami bird, Khronos hissed, "Damn humans."

Meredith grumbled pinching her nose bridge, "This is why I'm not on good terms with countries like this...poachers..." She walked a few paces, "Thanks Khronos....your really good at Origami!" She smiled.

Khronos rolled her eyes, smirking. "Hey, I know things," she said, laughing. "Now c'mon, let's get you some food."

Meredith nodded running after Khronos. A smile on her face.

As the two entered the market, an older blind woman grabbed Merediths arm, spouting some jibberish in Burdu. She sounded desparate, begging almost. She wasn't thin or ill...other seemed to ignore.

Meredith started speaking gibberish back, the woman looking up to the heavens as if she was just redeemed from some awful sin. The blind woman had to be nuts or something.

Meredith glanced up at Khronos, mouthing "I have NO idea what she just said..."

Khronos made a face as Meredith stared at her.

"...she just said that her husband took off in a flying...fish head, fapping away with some reeds..."

Meredith blinked as her face stretched into a 'wtf' expression. "I think I need to clean my brain of that mental image..."

Khronos couldn't help it; she erupted into laughter, something that looked odd for this red eyed, canine-like fanged, demon-clawed female.

Several people upped and ran for it, others chanted some nonsense about demons.

Meredith facepalmed, "Khro..."

Sirens started ringing, it sounded like NEST.

Khronos couldn't slowly stopped laughing, wiping away a fake tear as she said, "Damn I haven't laughed like that in a while!" She noticed most of the village had cleared out...and her laugh had actually brought forth Cybertronian from her mouth and over many telepathic and COM links...

"...shit," Khronos hissed.

Meredith wanted to snap, or at least make an insulting comment, but now wasn't the time nor place, "shit WHAT DO WE DO?!"
